Importing used Korean cars to Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia is the Gulf’s largest car market and drives on the right, so its ban on right-hand-drive imports fits Korea’s left-hand-drive stock directly. - Passenger cars must be no more than 5 model years old (for 2026 imports, model year 2021 or newer), counted excluding the current year, per ZATCA vehicle-import rules.
- Right-hand-drive vehicles cannot be imported for road use; all standard passenger cars must be factory left-hand drive. Korean domestic stock is left-hand drive and complies.
- Imported vehicles must meet SASO/GSO safety and emission standards and clear the SABER conformity platform (saber.sa): before shipment the importer obtains a vehicle-import consignment certificate (PCoC/SCoC) via an approved inspection body, which records the car’s age and fuel-consumption rate — customs will not release a vehicle without it.
